Across many cultures and throughout the centuries the owl has been held in regard either as an omen, a lucky charm, or symbol of inner qualities and outer fortunes. It may also be the most ubiquitous animal of the MCM period, particularly in the 1960’s. Whether depicted in the glazed earthenware pieces of Pablo Picasso, in the minimal representations of Danish teak, or as entertaining caricature in the brass pieces produced by Curtis Jeré, the owl is an enduring talisman. Please enjoy a few stylish MCM owls!
