Located in Justice, Illinois is the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum designed by the firm of Harley, Ellington, Cowin, & Stirton of Detroit, Michigan (known today as Harley Ellis Devereaux). Its resemblance to Greek Classicism is very much in keeping with its New Formalist style and is often considered the evolution of the Italian stile littorio that was popular prior to the Second World War.

The building is not only wrapped in columns but is also wrapped in 22,000 square feet of stained glass, the single largest stained glass piece in the world. The images portrayed in the stained glass of course depict classic biblical imagery but also some surprising depictions like dinosaurs, airplanes, and atomic explosions. The dalle de verre fills the mausoleum with atmospheric and colorful light during the day and at night the building glows like a vibrant jewel box. The Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum is wonderful example of the style and worth checking out. You may also catch a glimpse of the ghost of a former dance hall girl who is said to haunt the grounds!
